George C. Mathews

George C. Mathews was an American economist who served as a member of the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission under Franklin Delano Roosevelt from 1934 to 1940.

A liberal Republican from Wisconsin,[1] Mathews served on the Wisconsin Public Utilities Commission before being appointed by Roosevelt to the Federal Trade Commission on October 27, 1933.[1][2] He was appointed to the SEC on June 30, 1934.[3]
